Now that Apple’s Vision Pro has been out a few months (as well as device management support), I wanted to put out a longer form article on my thoughts about it as an enterprise product. This opinion has nothing to do with how I think about it as a consumer product, though. Apple products cross over both industries. As an example, I have a lot of ways that Apple TV could be improved for the enterprise, but that has nothing to do with its usefulness at home. Let’s dive in!

It’s that magical time of year when the sun is shining, the grass is growing, and flowers bloom. It’s almost time for near-perfect weather. Spring generally brings plenty of showers as well. It won’t be long until it’s the dog days of summer where it’s 95 degrees, full sun, and not a raindrop in sight, though. A few weeks ago, an IT manager I know called me out of the blue to chat. iOS 17.4 has been out in the wild for a few days, and something I’ll never get used to with Apple is that it brings some new features for a mid-cycle release. Apple Configuration Profiles is critical to the macOS and iOS management experience. They are XML files to deploy settings and authorization information to corporate and school-managed iPads, iPhones, Macs, Apple TVs, and even Apple Watch. These profiles are essential for controlling and standardizing settings across numerous devices. A new app I came across called LowProfile is an excellent (and free) app for inspecting and understanding these payloads before you deploy them.
